ESSENTIAL OILS

What are essential oils? Most are not actually oils, but the aromatic compounds found in plants. Don't be fooled, essential oils are not fragrance oils. Unlike their counterpart, essential oils are natural, not synthetically made to replicate natural scents. Different essential oils are extracted from different parts of plants including stems, leaves, bark, seeds, and even whole flowers. Extracting essential oils is not an easy task. In most instances, it takes many pounds of plant material to gather an ounce of essential oil. For example, to make a pound of Bulgarian Rose Essential Oil, it takes 4,000 pounds of Bulgarian roses. Each priceless drop of essential oil contains plant hormones and organic chemical compounds that regenerate and oxygenate the skin. In skincare, these very fragrant essences are an important addition because they are minuscule in molecular size, making it easy to be absorbed straight through to the subcutaneous layer.
